Combing intensified in Maoists-hit areas: DGP

Koraput: Director General of Police KB Singh said combing operations would be intensified in Maoist-hit areas by adopting special warfare techniques to counter the growing Maoist violence in the areas. Reviewing the law and order situation arising out of Maoist violence in Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Nuapada with senior police officers here Friday, the DGP said tactful operations in Maoist-hit areas bordering Chattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh were needed to check Naxal activities. “We are very concerned over the growing Naxal activities and we will deal with it accordingly,” the DGP said. The DGP was here to take stock of the situation after the recent landmine blast that killed two BSF jawans in Kalijhula village under Boipariguda police station limits and killing of locals in Narayanpatana and Boipariguda by Maoists in the past couple of days.
