Bhubaneswar: Following instructions from the Centre, the state government has asked all district collectors to complete Aadhaar enrolment of all school students by November-end.
Since the Centre has extended the deadline for Aadhaar enrolment till December 31, the school and mass education (S&ME) department instructed schools under primary and higher secondary levels to identify and enrol the left out students in Aadhaar camps.
According to official sources, so far 80.23 per cent of population in the age group of 6 to 18 years in the state has been enrolled under Aadhaar.
The government has asked the collectors to identify three to four secondary schools in each block having Internet connectivity for setting up Aadhaar camps.
“Specific strategy is to be made for identifying the students in primary to higher secondary level who have not yet been enrolled under Aadhaar and instruct the schools to get them enrolled under Aadhaar,” S&ME secretary PK Mohapatra wrote to all the collectors.
Mohapatra instructed the collectors to entrust the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCCs) of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) to ensure that every child at the primary to higher secondary levels are enrolled between November 1 and 10. The next phase of Aadhaar enrolment will be held between November 20 and 30, he said.
“100 per cent target need to be achieved by November-end. If any student remains non-enrolled under Aadhaar, BEO, CRCC and headmaster concerned will be held responsible,” he warned.
During the process, the children who had been enrolled earlier under Aadhaar and crossed the age of 5 or 15 years, their biometric authentication would also be done at the Aadhaar Centres.
The officials have also been directed to upload information of all students from Class-I to XII with Aadhaar number on e-governance portal of Orissa Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA) by November 10.
