Cong protest Guv’s speech, stages walk out

Bhubaneswar: The Opposition Congress members Monday staged walk out during the address of Governor Ganeshi Lal to the fifteenth session of the Assembly.

Later, Mishra said there is no point in listening to the speech of the Governor which unnecessarily praised the government. The House, however, functioned normally and the Governor completed his address smoothly.

Soon after the Governor’s address, the House adopted obituary reference moved by Chief Minister and leader of House Naveen Patnaik.

The House was adjourned for the day by Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat till Tuesday after government chief whip Amar Prasad Satpathy moved the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address to the House.
