Congress’ infighting now in NH 215, president Patnaik on the spot

Bhubaneswar:  A video surfacing the Congress’ infighting in the presence of OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik is going viral setting droll discourse across the State.

The video shows the incident occur Sunday between 9pm – 10pm. As seen in the video, a car en route Jajpur from Anandapur in Keonjhar district, halts near at Hasanpur toll gate under Sainkul police limits. Few people come into the picture from the opposite side of the road and start raining blows to one of the occupants of the car after dragging him out.

After a while, the car of PCC president Niranjan Patnaik comes into the scene and stops on the spot and Patnaik, the party president is seen talking to few people.

Local people attributed all the drama to the Congress’ infighting. According to them, there had been a rivalry between a Congress leader of Alati under Ghasipura constituency and a block level Congress leader of Gadabandhagoda area. Supporters of the block level leader were seen beaten by some leaders and their supporters from Sainkul area.

While suspense shrouded the whole incident, the presence of Niranjan Patnaik on the spot raised eyebrows adding importance to the incident.

“The Congress party has been kept away from power for 20 long years in the State. But, no change in the characters of its leaders is noticed,” alleged local residents.

Despite several attempts Patnaik could not be reached for a reaction. His personal security guards snapped the call informing he was busy at a meeting.

No police case had been registered in this regard, it was learnt.
