Congress not to resort to strikes over Smitarani’s death

Bhubaneswar: Unlike the BJP, the Congress will not resort to bandh over the mysterious death of PEO Smitarani Parida in Jajpur. Even though the Congress, like the BJP has demanded a fair probe into the matter, OPCC chairman, Niranjan Patnaik said Monday, that the party will not resort to strikes.

Niranjan Patnaik also informed the process of restructuring of the OPCC will start after Diwali. He informed that the panel will be a smaller one than the previous body.

Patnaik also said that a meeting involving party observers would be convened October 24. They would place their reports on how the party is functioning at the organizational level in 33 districts. These reports would then be sent to the AICC.
