Bhubaneswar: Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati Saturday urged universities, corporates and philanthropists to come forward as Nikshay Mitras and contribute to the collective mission of achieving a ‘TB-Mukt Odisha’.
As part of the initiative to strengthen the fight against tuberculosis and support patients during treatment, the Governor handed over nutritional food baskets to the Khurda Collector for distribution among 100 TB patients at a special event at Raj Bhavan.
The initiative comes under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, under which the Governor has adopted the district’s TB patients as Nikshay Mitra to provide sustained nutritional support throughout the treatment period.
The programme also included a presentation by the Health and Family Welfare director, outlining the current status of TB in Odisha and the government’s multi-pronged efforts to eliminate the disease.
