Puri, June 14: Police have suspected a link between the murder of a biker during a snatching bid at Patnaikia Square on Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway June 10 and two cases of robbery near Olatpur in Cuttack district on the same day.
Police said they have found similarities between the cartridges seized from Patnaikia Square and near Olatpur.
“We are suspecting the involvement of a particular gang in the murder at Patnaikia Square and two incidents of robbery under Olatpur police limits,” said Satyabadi police in-charge Mrutyunjaya Swain.
Police, meanwhile, recorded the statements of family members of deceased biker Manoranjan Behera at Panasgand Kendrapara. They also collected the phone call details of Chandrakant Behera and Biplab Behera, the husband and son of Renubala, who had accompanied Manoranjan on the fateful day.
Police have said Renubala’s family is not cooperating in the investigation. “We are looking into all aspects of the murder,” Swain said.
