Bhubaneswar: Fashion shows, DJ nights and performances by celebrity singers will be in place for the New Year eve or Zero hour in city hotels. New Year revelers bid farewell to 2017 and greet New Year. Hotels, big and small, in the city made arrangements for the mega event. Hotels MayFair and Swosti Premium made arrangements like celebrity singer, live band, DJ, dance bonaza with beverages, snacks & lavish buffet.
Mayfair invited singers Geet Sagar and Riya Bhattacharya to perform on the last day of the year. Hotel officials said popular DJs from Mumbai are expected to mesmerize the audience with the EDM. Hotel Swosti Premium has made arrangements for the late night event of December 31.
The two events Skylimit and Shimmer at Plaza Club and Chankaya hotel premises respectively will have star DJs from Mumbai to entertain revelers. This apart, unlimited snacks and buffet will be there for the food lovers. The theme of the party will be ‘mask’. The singles and couples can get entry to Skylight and couples to Shimmer for a price. Splitsvilla reality show fame actor Subuhi Joshi will perform at Mashmello New Year hangover event at Prachi resort in Khandagiri. DJ Ankit, also from Mumbai, will perform.
Indian Idol singer Biswajit and Oriya singer James will perform at Hotel Pushpak on the day. Similarly, Sandy tower is hosting a plethora of events, fashions shows, rock show and belly dance to amuse the visitors. Hotel Pal Heights has planned special events including Ghazal programme. Big Hotels in the city, are busy seeking permission from the excise department in connection with liquor sales late into the night. Meanwhile, city police commissioner YB Khurania has sent a strong message to all hotels and clubs gearing up for New Year bash. No third party licence will be issued, Khurania warned. Owners of hotels, clubs and other institutions have to seek permission to host New Year celebrations in the twin cities. “We will not issue licences to outsourcing agencies or a third party. Adequate police measures have been taken to put curbs on incidents of rash driving in the city limits under the influence of alcohol.
