Nayagarh: A young couple sustained severe burn injuries at Brahmansahi here in this district Thursday night. Locals spotted fire erupting from their house and rescued the two in critical condition. They were taken to Nayagarh district headquarters hospital (DHH).
After preliminary treatment, they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for better treatment. The couple has been identified as Kanhucharan Dakua and his wife Reshma Dakua. While Reshma has sustained 70 per cent burn injuries, Kanhu survived with 30 per cent burns, medical authorities said.
While no exact reason of the fire was known, locals assumed the couple has set themselves on fire over a family feud. Reports said, the couple has an eight-year-old daughter.
