Keonjhar: A couple was killed while another occupant injured after the Bolero vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck at Palaspanga near Sadar in Keonjhar district Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Beena Devi Mahakud (50) and Balabhadra Mahakud (55) of Balagod near Bolani in Keonjhar district.
The accident happened when the persons were returning from Cuttack after treatment at a private hospital. Visibility was poor due to the dense fog, leading to the accident.
Police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
The identity of the injured person is yet to be ascertained. He has been rushed to a nearby government hospital.
Meanwhile local residents pointed out that accidents are happening regularly due to illegal and disorganised parking in the locality.
They alleged that the administration hasn’t taken steps to control the situation despite being informed about the problem many times.
