CR7 bombshell for Real Madrid

Madrid: Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected a new contract offered to him as he is ‘angry’ with the hierarchy of the club, sources informed here Tuesday. A section of the media also reported that Ronaldo has asked the club to release him at the end of the season, June 30, 2018. His current deal with the club however, runs till 2021.

Spanish TV channel ‘El Chiringuito’ has said that Ronaldo has already conveyed his decision to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. However, his request has been turned down by the club, who don’t want to release him under any circumstances. This has further angered the footballer.

Ronaldo so far has had a frustrating season scoring just one goal in 11 La Liga games. However, he has the backing of manager Zinedine Zidane who has time and again said that Ronaldo ‘is an invaluable asset’ to the side. A couple of weeks back, Ronaldo had said on another TV channel that the Bernabeu fans are very special to him, but at times he does feel his ‘value’ to the club has not been given its due by the officials.

Ronaldo has told the club that he wants to move and try his luck elsewhere at a ‘reasonable’ price. The question however, is whether Real Madrid would cede to his request.
