Keonjhar: A team from the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the state Crime Branch (CB) Saturday inspected the farmhouse of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Raja Chakra, who has been arrested in connection with financial irregularities at the Gandhamardan Loading Agency at Suakati in Keonjhar district.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of Revenue and Forest department officials at the Gopalpur farmhouse of Chakra. Sources said that the team measured the property to assess potential encroachments and verify land records.
Although the land is officially recorded as a leasehold, there have been allegations that a portion of the land has been encroached upon illegally.
Chakra was arrested recently on charges of financial misconduct involving agency operations.
