Crown Sporting in final

Nimapada: Crown Sporting of Bhubaneswar stormed into the final of the All India Nimapada Cup cricket tournament after scripting a five-wicket victory over Union Sporting of Cuttack in the semifinal here, Tuesday.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Union Sporting were bowled out for a paltry of 109 in 27.5 overs. Rashmi Ranjan Rout (34 runs) and Pranit Behera (25 runs) were the only batsmen to offer some resistance. Man of the match Suryakanta Samal (three wickets) and Rashmi Ranjan Sahu (two wickets) bowled well for the winning side.

In reply, Crown Sporting notched up the target in just 20.1 overs, losing five wickets in the process. Aditya (37), Rajesh Sethi (26) and Debadatta Soumya Sundar (23) batted well to take their side home comfortably.

Jyoti Ranjan Dalai (three wickets) bowled well for the losing side. But he did not receive any support from the other bowlers of his team.
