Koraput: The Central University of Odisha (CUO), in collaboration with the International Potato Center (CIP), Peru, organised a potato innovation and technology demonstration programme at its campus in Sunabeda, focusing on advanced seed production, protected cultivation and research collaboration.
CUO Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ajit Kumar Shasany inaugurated polyhouse and net-house facilities established for potato cutting and rooted cutting production under protected cultivation.
Technical sessions covered advanced potato seed production methods, including aeroponics and apical root cutting. Discussions focused on producing quality planting material and developing sustainable potato production systems suited to Koraput and the wider region.
The visiting scientists, university authorities, faculty members and students also inspected the polyhouse and net-house facilities, where potato cutting and rooted cutting production was demonstrated.
The programme aimed to promote innovative potato production technologies and strengthen research and technology transfer opportunities in the Koraput region.
