Cuttack, Feb 6: Cuttack-A defeated Bhubaneswar-A by virtue of obtaining the first innings lead and emerged champions of the OCA U-16 Inter-District Sumit Bose Trophy Memorial cricket tournament at the Ravenshaw Ground-1 here Friday.
The first innings lead of 153 runs helped Cuttack-A in their second essay as they did not bat well against some accurate bowling by Aniket Patnaik (4/40). But then time was always a constraint for the Bhubaneswar-A bowlers. Cuttack declared their second innings at 163 for 8 leaving Bhubaneswar a massive target of 317 runs for victory. When stumps were drawn Bhubaneswar were 12 for two.
The winners bagged a cash prize of Rs 10,000 along with the trophy, while the runners-up took home Rs 5,000 and a trophy.
