Cuttack: A team of commissionerate police officials on a visit to Jharkhand Monday collected several crucial documents relating to the murder of Dipu and Om allegedly by the Dhalasamanta brothers.
Gua police in Jharkhand had registered murder cases after the charred bodies of Dipu and Om, the former aides of the Dhalasamanta brothers, were recovered from its jurisdiction.
The commissionerate police team collected all the records relating to the cases, including the case diaries, from Gua police station.
The records will help in the ongoing probe, said officials of the commissionerate police.
Police earlier said the gangster siblings had abducted Dipu and Om November 12, 2013, and took them to a farmhouse at Khuntakata in Athagarh, were they murdered them.
Then they took the bodies of the two men to Jharkhand in a car and set them on fire to destroy evidence.
Sources said some locals had spotted the charred bodies of Dipu and Om and informed Gua police.
“Those who spotted the bodies will be questioned. A team has gone to that area,” said a senior police official. Police also seized a Scorpio from college square here in this connection.
