Nayagarh: Intensifying his attack against BJD, expelled Paradip MLA Damodar Rout urged the people here to bring a change in their district by ensuring the defeat of present Nayagarh BJD MLA Arun Sahoo in the upcoming election.
Attending a function as a Chief Guest, organised by Praja Andalon Sangathan and Soochana Adhikar Abhiyan at the Durga Mandap ground in Nayagarh, Dama targeted MLA Sahoo and the ruling BJD party in his speech.
Dama accused Sahoo of being involved in several in crimes during his student and political career. Dama said Sahoo has been involved in Motilal Gouda case, money investment in the construction company responsible for the Bomikhal bridge collapse case, rice mill and poultry farm cases.
He also accused the former Law Minister of being involved in the murder case of Chhabi Bardhan in 2006, whose body was recovered from Sahoo’s residence in Unit-6 area, Bhubaneswar.
The senior leader claimed that it was with his help that Sahoo entered into politics in 2003 and was now interfering in all matters of the state government ranging from Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana to Pani Panchayat. Speaking on the occasion, he promised to reveal the real image of Sahoo before citizens.
He then went ahead to question why the government was launching various schemes and programmes when the state was under loan burden. Urging the people of the district to uproot BJD from Odisha, he said the people of Nayagarh should stop crying and should be angry instead.
However, comments from Arun Sahoo could not be obtained despite repeated efforts.
Journalist Satya Prakash Nayak, state convener of Soochana Adhikar Abhiyan Pradeep Pradhan and senior journalist Rabi Das also attended the meeting.
