Jagatsinghpur: Addressing the media at the Swabhiman Meeting at Erasama Regional Youth Council field Monday, expelled BJD leader Damodar Rout Monday termed himself a ‘raging bull’ who was earlier tied but was now untied and free.

He claimed to be free now and can do anything. He once again vented his frustration over his expulsion and showed his anger on the Chief Minister and the BJD party.

Raising several corruptions and issues including Kunduli incident and prawn mafias in Balikuda-Erasama, he targeted the state government and said he would tour width and breadth of the state urging people to opt for a clean government by uprooting corrupt leaders.

Interestingly, the meeting attended by Dama and his supporters turned out to be a successful one as many people turned up for the meeting.

Dama thanked his supporters and the people for making the meeting successful.

“Many leaders, grass root workers and political observers had an eye on this meeting. They had taken steps to make the meeting a failure. But, I thank everyone for proving them wrong and showing my strength,” Dama said adding that the way people responded and turned up at the meeting ground proves that his strength has increased manifold even after the expulsion.

Dama was welcomed and taken to the meeting spot amid a bike procession at 5 pm. At the meeting ground, seeing a huge gathering, a visibly elated Dama launched a scathing attack on the state government.

He said, “The number of illegal prawn enclosures is increasing with every passing day. And this is because; these prawn mafias are enjoying the tacit support of political leaders.”

He alleged that the country liquor trade is also flourishing in villages. And political leaders are misappropriating the revenue coming from liquor.

He said he will soon give the vigilance some details and a picture of a house that has been built with money an MLA received from ‘dalas’ (middlemen). He also spoke his role in making Prashant Muduli an MLA.

In order to cash in on the huge gathering, he did not let the opportunity go without targeting the CM.

He said, “Naveen had come with two sets of punjabis and one pair of Kolhapuri shoes. He came before the people of Odisha with this clean image and as a son of Biju Patnaik, won the election and became the CM. But, he does not have a shred of Biju Babu’s ideology. He is carrying out corruption by keeping Arun Sahu and Rishi Samantray as pawns.

He further accused the CM possessed two PAN CARDS- one in Odisha and one in Tamil Nadu. And one of them has been seized, he claimed.

On this occasion he declared that Ravana Podi utsav will be celebrated in a big manner this year October 20.

The meeting, chaired by former Zilla Parishad member and Congress leader Sarada Prasanna Jena, was attended by former MLA Jagneswar Babu, senior journalist Rabi Das, former Ersama Block Chairman Debendra Kishore Tripathy, Ersama sarpanch Geetanjali Swain, former Japa sarpanch Ramchandra Mohanty, Sarada Prasanna Dash and Convener of Right to Information Act Pradeep Pradhan.
