Das Burma sends representative to depose before CBI

Bhubaneswar: Food and civil supplies minister Sanjay Das Burma’s representative appeared before CBI officials Wednesday evening after the central agency’s sleuths sent a notice to the minister asking him to appear before them for questioning regarding his alleged links with the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group.
According to the notice, the CBI had reportedly asked Das Burma to appear before them April 5. However, the minister instead sent his representative Gauranga Sahoo to sthe CBI office here April 6.
Sahoo, who came to the CBI office Wednesday evening, stayed there for a very brief time.
After coming out of the CBI office, Sahoo said he had come to hand over some documents to the officials as the minister was unable to come as he was preoccupied with some engagements in Koraput.
“The CBI officials have asked Das Burma to furnish the details about the vehicles he has in his name or in the names of his family members. The officials have also asked Das Burma if he owns or owned any Pajero vehicle,” sources said.
