Before their marriage, ‘Kabir Singh’ star Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor were in a serious relationship. Shahid and Kareena’s scintillating chemistry on-screen had made their fans root for their off-screen relationship as well and were hoping to see them as husband and wife.
But to everyone’s sorrow, Shahid and Kareena parted ways. Speaking about their first meeting, Shahid had said, “We were dating within the first week of meeting each other…so you can say that, yes, we hit it off the moment we met!”
Revealing the kind of boyfriend he was, Shahid Kapoor had once said in an interview that he was very moody as sometimes he used to get all romantic and take Kareena Kapoor for long drives, and sometimes, he used to get quite sporty and take her for jet-skiing.
Commenting on coping with breakups, Shahid had stated, “I would sit in a corner and listen to emotional and heartbroken music to escape the depression and also took the shoulders of friends and family members to be able to handle it.”
“You just keep brooding about one individual, and that is your love. At this point in time you do not like your surroundings and people around you as well. You damage yourself unknowingly, and this is shown in Kabir Singh as well. I too got nostalgic while playing this character, it reminded me of my college days. If you like a girl, you feel as though your heart has broken in pieces when she does not talk to you or does not respond. You feel emotional,” Shahid Kapoor said.
A lot has been said and written about Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor’s breakup, and as per a Miss Malini report, it was her mother, Babita and sister, Karisma Kapoor, who were not very fond of their camaraderie. Although Shahid belongs to a well-known filmy lineage, they had felt that their families do not match and go at par with each other. The report also had it that Kareena’s fondness towards Shahid was turning into an obsession as Bebo was then asking all of her directors to cast them together in films.
