Cuttack, April 11: DAV, CDA registered a resounding 115 run victory over Syed Seminary to enter the quarterfinals of the PVR Murthy Inter-School cricket tournament at the Bhuvanananda School of Engineering Ground here Saturday.
Chasing a victory target of 164, Syed Seminary could not tackle fiery spells from Prajwala Laha (5/10) and Vinit Kumar Mohanty (3/20) and were bundled out for a paltry 48 in 16 over.
Earlier opting to bat first, DAV rode on a fluent fifty by Saswat Mohanty (56) to score a challenging total of 163 in the stipulated 25 overs. Prajwala Laha (31) and Vinit Kumar Mohanty (24) also played little cameos. Bipin Behera (3/40) bowled well for Syed Seminary. Prajwala bagged the man of the match award for his all-round show.
