Kolkata: Former Bengal under-19 cricketer and a present member of the under-23 team, Ankit Keshari passed away Monday. Ankit had been hospitalised since April 17 when he suffered an injury during a first division knockout match between East Bengal and Bhawanipore at the Jadavpur Cricket Ground here. The promising cricketer while attempting a catch had collided with East Bengal teammate Sourav Mondal. During the collision he suffered injuries on his head and neck and had lost consciousness on the ground itself. He was immediately transferred to a private nursing home and doctors Sunday had stated that his condition is stable. However, Ankit passed away suddenly in the early hours of Monday.Agencies
