Dhamnagar: A debt-ridden farmer from Bhadrak district, who was under medical care after attempting to commit suicide earlier over loan burden, breathed his last Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Umakant Lenka(58) from Deuladiha Nuapatana area under Dhamnagar block of Bhadrak district. He attempted to commit suicide last Friday.
His family members had filed a complaint at Dhusuri police station alleging that he was under stress due to loan burden and attempted to commit suicide by drinking pesticide.
Umakant was under treatment at the district headquarters hospital and was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where he died Wednesday.
