Bhubaneswar, June 15: Ananya Sritam Nanda, the winner of Indian Idol Junior 2, has released her debut independent single ‘Mausam Mastana’, a re-creation of veteran playback singer Asha Bhonsle’s classic. It was one of the songs of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Satte Pe Satta’.
Ananya’s rendition is a combination of Bollywood and urban pop with a touch of reggae music in it. The song is released by Universal music and it has been remixed by DJ AKS.
“It was a great experience to sing a song of legend and my favourite singer Asha Bhonsle. I feel honoured to be singing a song that has been made her popular and I hope she feels proud of me when she hears the song,” the 13-year-old told Orissa POST.
“Zimbabwean rapper Jusa Dementor has also contributed his part to the song. It is a cool song and I much enjoyed singing it,” Ananya said.
Recently, she has also sung two bhajans for Prafulla Kar. “The CD of devotional songs is yet to be released. I have received many offers since then but I have not accepted them because I want focus on studies now,” she said.
