Chandili: The decomposed body of an unidentified person was recovered from Jodagarsi on national highway 63 near Kotpad in Koraput district, Sunday.
According to sources, a few villagers went to forest to collect wood and spotted the body before informing Kotpad police in this regard. The police inspected the missing persons’ reports lodged in nearby police stations and in neighbouring Chhattisgarh. However, the body is yet to be identified.
The police also seized the body for autopsy. It was suspected to be a murder as there were blood stains on the highway.
The postmortem report would reveal the exact cause of death of the person, said sources in police.
An unnatural death case (3/2019) was registered and investigation launched into the matter, informed police sub-inspector BK Ray.
