Bhubaneswar: Air Force, Delhi entered into the final of the 25th Pradeep memorial cricket tournament after beating Vishakhapatnam Railways by 109 runs in a semifinal match at Tilo, Saturday.
Put into bat first Vishakhapatnam Railways scored 173 for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs with Nabnit Singh (53, 43b, 4×4, 1×6) emerging as the highest scorer. R Prasad (2/22) and Appa Rao (2/29) bowled well for Air Force, Delhi.
In reply Vishakhapatnam Railways were never on the chase and they were bundled out for 64 in 10.2 overs. Abhishek Sukuja bagged six wickets for the winning team to be adjudged man of the match.
KIIT win
KIIT defeated TCS by three wickets in a match of the E-League Challenger Series at the IMMT Ground here Saturday.
Put into bat first TCS were skittled out for meager 76 in 17.5 overs. Durga Charan Mallick (5/8) and Isham Panigrahi (3/13) wreaked havoc with their bowling.
In reply KIIT overhauled the total in 16.5 overs for the loss of seven wickets with contributions from Sibashis Sahoo (18) and Subrajeet Behera (16). Pinaki Mohanty (4/12) bowled well for TCS.
Bengal, Manipur in semis
Bengal and Manipur advanced into the semifinals of the 23rd Senior Women National Football Championship after registering easy quarterfinal victories against their respective opponents at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Saturday.
Bengal defeated Punjab 2-0 with Sangita Basfore (sixth) and Dular Marandi (77th) scoring for the winners. In the other match Manipur eased past Haryana 3-0. Bala Devi (18th & 22th) and Binomala Chanu (80th) scored the goals.
