Copenhagen: A spokesperson for Denmark’s richest man Anders Holch Povlsen has confirmed that the billionaire and his wife have lost three of their four children in the deadly Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka.
As per Danish media reports, the family had been on holiday in the island nation when the attacks unfolded.
Sri Lanka faced its worst ever experience with terrorism when a string of blasts at churches and luxury hotels in the early hours of Sunday took the lives of at least 290 people and injured over 500. According to Sri Lankan authorities, seven suicide bombers were involved in the operation that spanned across the country.
Danish billionaire Povlsen is the CEO and the sole owner of international clothing retailer chain Bestseller which includes brands like Jack&Jones and Vero Moda.
Povlsen is also the majority stakeholder at online retailers Asos and holds a big stake in Zalando as well. The 46-year-old also owns more than 1 per cent of the land in Scotland.
