Bhubaneswar: Digitisation of the 30 works Jagannath Prasad Das, the former IAS officer turned writer, recently free-licensed for inclusion in Oriya wikisource, has been completed.
Bhubaneswar based non-profit and science education research organisation Srujanika completed the digitization and they will be made available soon available.
According to Das, he had been looking to making his presence felt in the digital medium as well. “Purnachandra Oriya Bhashakosha — all of 9, 5 00 pages in seven volumes has been digitised. This book, which was meant for the writing table will now be read online. It is wonderful to have Oriya books available on the internet for any interested reader to easily access,” Das said.
Das believes young writers from Orissa should take the initiative to get more Oriya books available online through Oriya Wikisource.
In the past many prominent writers including Padmashree Debi Prasanna Pattanayak, Manoj Panda, Dr Subrat Prusty and Bharat Majhi, and organisations such as Manik Biswanath Smrutinyasa have made Oriya books available on Oriya Wikisource.
