Bhubaneswar, Nov 11: Renowned Oriya movie producer Akshay Parija and award winning director Nilamadhav Panda, a Padma award recipient, are coming up with their upcoming venture on global warming. In the film, ‘Kadvi Hawa’, well-known actors from the Hindi film industry Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, Tilottama Shome and Bhupesh Singh will be seen in pivotal roles.
Panda’s debut documentary made in 2005 also dealt with an environmental issue of similar nature. It was informed that the movie received fellowship from the British Council, which was aired on the Discovery Channel.
Producer Parija, who was contented with himself for having worked on a global issue, said, “I am glad to have worked with director and Padma Shri awardee Nilamadhab Panda. I am quite confident that awareness on this explosive problem will be created by this movie.” Parija had successfully produced ‘Jianta Bhuta’, ‘Thukool’, ‘Kehi Nuhen Kahara’ and ‘Agastya’ in the past.
Karen Tenkoff, who is famous for ‘The Motor Cycle Diaries’, is the executive producer of the movie. She thanked the producer and director for making a movie that was very relevant in the present scenario.
The movie is shot on a celluloid camera, a gear with up-to-date technology. “Kodak is thrilled that the film was shot with this camera. It breaks the myth that films are more expensive to shoot,” says Amit Sherigar, account & business development manager of Kodak Motion Picture and Entertainment, India.
Jointly produced by Nilamadhab Panda and Akshay Parija, the movie is presently in the final stage of post-production. The team was at the American Film Market in Santa Monica, California recently to discuss about its worldwide release and international distribution of the movie, which will have a world premiere first and then will release in India by early 2017.
