Sambalpur: In yet another incident highlighting the patriarchal mindset of the society, an abandoned newborn baby girl was rescued from a cradle at Kuchinda sub-divisional hospital Monday.

It was some medical staff that first spotted the girl wrapped in clothes in a cradle. They immediately took the baby to the hospital. The doctors on duty carried out certain tests and then it was administered with some vaccines.

After finishing necessary treatment, the hospital authorities informed the Kuchinda child line centre. Later, some staff from the child line reached the hospital, consulted with the doctors and then took the baby with them.

Four days ago, an abandoned baby girl was rescued from the same cradle centre.
