Bhadrak: The district administration here has started sending relief packets for those affected by the extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘Fani’. Packets of puffed rice and biscuits have been sent for the people who have taken refuge in the shelter homes, schools and other pucca buildings in Basudevpur, Dhamra and Chandbali areas.
So far shifted 60, 000 people have been evacuated from low-lying areas. The district administration through public announcements is constantly urging people not to venture outdoors. Shopkeepers and roadside kiosks have been asked not to open their establishments.
The administration is ready to face any kind of emergency, informed Collector Gyanranjan Das.
