Kendrapara: A three-day NSS camp comprising student volunteers from colleges across Kendrapara district concluded at Dinabandhu Sahu (DS) Law College at Udayanagar here Sunday.
Guests speaking at the valedictory function of the camp said that Mahatma Gandhi once envisioned a nation where everyone could live in peace and harmony, and NSS, run by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is working towards realising that dream.
The camp, which began Friday, drew more than a hundred student volunteers from colleges across the Kendrapara district.

They participated in various workshops, awareness programmes and rallies. Sessions focused on social responsibility, discipline, teamwork and dedication, while awareness drives covered environmental cleanliness, literacy, health, drug-free living, civic participation, career counselling and road safety.
Students also emphasised tree plantation. The event was inaugurated by principal Rabindra Kumar Bal, while Kalinga Keshari Behera, Ramesh Chandra Behera, Braja Narayan Patra and Padmaja Kabi Satapathy were the guests.
Social worker Imran Ali, Raghunath Mandal, Satya Shree Soumya Mahapatra, Major Bharat Chandra Jena and Madhusudan Das addressed students on the NSS motto “Not Me, But You” on the second day.
At the valedictory session, Educationist Nirad Baran Khunta, college governing body president Sujit Kumar Mohanty and NSS regional director Sarita Patel urged students to contribute to nation-building through social service at the valedictory session.
Prabhas Ranjan Dalai, Jathartha Dhal, Aishwarya Ray, Swastiprakash Dash, Arup Narayan Behera and Sasmita Behera, along with other NSS volunteers of DS Law College coordinated the camp.
