Bhubaneswar, May 24: With a day to go for Sachin-A Billion Dreams, a biographical film on the Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, to hit the theatres, cine buffs as well as cricket fans in the smart city are eagerly waiting to watch the first screening of the much-awaited movie. Sachin-A Billion Dreams has been written and directed by James Erskine, Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures produced the venture under the 200 NotOut Productions banner.
The biopic on cricket legend was recently declared tax-free in Orissa.
Announcing this, state finance minister Shashi Bhushan Behera said entertainment tax for the movie has been waived for audience at theatres throughout the state as the cricket legend is a source of inspiration for the youth.
Sachin: A Billion Dreams will be screened at Ravi Talkies, Keshari, Stutee and Inox. The film will showcase all the memorable moments of Sachin’s historical career on the big screen. Interestingly, all this has been told by Sachin himself.
Ashay Agarwal, a Sachin fan, said he will love to watch the film, especially because it will be a memorable film to watch. The historical aspects of the master blaster’s cricketing life like the world cup glory, his moments with his coach Ramakant Achrekar, his brother Ajit Tendulkar will be interesting to watch.
Another fan, Sumeet Mohanty said that Sachin had played for his country for so many years that is not possible to capture his entire career in a film. Still the film will have much to offer, he hoped.
According to P Lokesh Dora, “After watching the trailer we can say that Sachin’s whole life – from his childhood to the World Cup win will be shown in a documentary style. The film touches realism. A feature film would have made it too dramatic.”.
