Cuttack: Rising Star Club registered a comprehensive 2-0 victory against SAI-STC in a FAO Ist division league match at the Barabati Stadium here, Saturday.
After a barren first half, the Rising Star players came out strongly in the second half to play some delightful attacking football. The deadlock was finally broken the in the 58th minute when Sanjit Khara’s powerful shot found the back of the net.
Up by a goal, Rising Star continued in the same attacking vein. Their efforts were rewarded when Dipak Minz doubled the lead in the 66th minute. The winners could have added a few more goals to their tally, but poor marksmanship in front of the opposition goal prevented them from doing so.
