Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has planned special puja trains and will add additional coaches/berths on the trains running in their jurisdiction in the state to facilitate easy movement of the passengers.
While the department has planned an array of special trains in the state, it has also planned to ensure additional coaches to tackle the surge in the number of passengers. The department, Friday, released the list of special trains aimed at catering to the extra rush during the Puja season.
According to the department these puja special express trains included– Puri-Santragachhi (Howrah)-Puri, Santragachhi-Chennai-Santragachhi (Howrah), Shalimar-Puri-Santragachhi (Howrah), Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad- Secunderabad Weekly, Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad- Secunderabad bi-weekly, Sambalpur-Banaswadi (Bangalore)-Sambalpur, Sealdah-Puri-Sealdah(Kolkata), and Habibganj-Puri-Habibganj (Bhopal).
Others included-Bhanjapur-Puri-Bhanjapur (Baripada), Secunderabad- Guwahati-Secunderabad, Kacheguda-Tata-Kacheguda(Secunderabad), Chennai- Guwahati, Chennai-Santragachhi, Puduchery-Santragachhi, Visakhapatnam-Araku-Visakhapatnam, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Visakhapatnam-Tirupati-Visakhapatnam, Kacheguda-Srikakulam-Kacheguda (Secunderabad), Kacheguda-Srikakulam-Tirupati, Special.
These apart, a number of Special Trains have been planned to ply between different destinations of the country through East Coast Railway jurisdiction during this Puja season and will also create more coaches. On the other hand, additional berths are anticipated based on the needs.
The railway zone has planned 40 important regular trains with additional coaches during the period by creating additional berths. These include Bhubaneswar-Bangalore-Bhubaneswar Prashanti Express, Bhubaneswar-New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express Trains, Howrah bound Janshatabdi & Dhauli Express, Bhubaneswar-Puduchery Express, Bokaro bound Garib Rath Express, Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express, Puri-Durg, Puri-Hatia Tapaswini Express, Patna bound Baidyanathdham Express Howrah bound weekly express trains from Puri and Sambalpur.
