ECoR to increase special train services

Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the passengers’ demand, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to increase the services of special trains currently running under its jurisdiction. ECoR sources Wednesday said some more special trains have also been decided to run to various destinations through the ECR to avoid overcrowding in winter. Train no 08579/08580 Visakhapatanam-Secunderabad-Visakhapatanam Special train departing every Wednesday from Visakhapatnam and every Thursday from Secunderabad will run now till February 1, 2024. The Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special Train which departs every Monday from Visakhapatnam and every Tuesday from Tirupati will now run till January 30, 2024.

The Visakhapatnam-Bengaluru Special Train departing every Sunday from Visakhapatnam and every Monday from Bengaluru will now run till January 29, 2024. The Srikakulam Road-KollamSrikakulam Road Special will depart from Srikakulam at 11 am every Saturday till January 27, 2024 while on the return route, the train will leave Kollam every Sunday till January 28, 2024. The Visakhapatnam-KollamVisakhapatnam Special will leave Visakhapatnam at 8:20 am every Wednesday from November 29, 2023, to January 31, 2024, while on the return route, the train will run from Kollam at 7:35 pm every Thursday from 30 November 2023 to February 1, 2024. The Puri-Patna-Puri Special will leave Puri at 2.55 pm every Saturday and Patna at 1.45 pm every Sunday till December 30, 2023.

The Bhubaneswar-Dhanbad-Bhubaneswar Special running daily between Puri and Dhanbad will run till December 30. The train leaves Puri at 8:25 pm and Dhanbad at 4:00 pm. The Bhanjpur (Baripada)-PuriBhanjpur Special will leave Bhanjpur every Thursday and Saturday till December 31. It will leave Puri every Friday and Sunday.

The Santragachi-PuriSantragachi Special will depart from Santragachi every Friday till December 30, 2023, and from Puri every Saturday. The Sambalpur-ErodeSambalpur Special will run till March 2024 from Sambalpur every Wednesday and Erode every Friday. The ECoR has taken the decision by reviewing the passenger profile management as these trains on the above routes are running with extra passengers.
