Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has initiated interlocking of mid-section level crossing (LC) gates in its jurisdiction.
Recently, ECoR has eliminated all the unmanned level crossings in its jurisdiction. At present, ECoR has 538 LC gates in the mid-section out of total 739 manned LC gates. Altogether, ECoR has interlocked 412 LC gates including 213 manned ones in the mid-section where as 34 gates have been interlocked till now, during the current financial year.
Of the total level crossings, 97 mid-section manned LC gates have been interlocked whose train vehicle unit is more than 50 thousand. Till the third quarter of the current financial year, ECoR has made 10 such LC gates with interlocking system.
