ECoR’s Jan Sambad campaign to strengthen public outreach

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) organised a ‘Jan Sambad’ campaign across its stations Thursday to strengthen direct communication between the Railways and the public, enhance passenger awareness and encourage public participation in improving railway services.

As part of the programme, East Coast Railway General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal interacted with passengers at Bhubaneswar Railway Station and obtained their feedback and suggestions regarding railway services and passenger amenities.

He also inspected the passenger amenities and cleanliness at the station to assess the facilities available to passengers and emphasise the importance of maintaining clean and passenger-friendly railway premises.

Funkwal also spearheaded a cleanliness campaign within the station premises, highlighting the importance of maintaining hygiene and ensuring a clean environment for passengers. Railway officials and staff participated in the initiative, reinforcing the collective responsibility of keeping railway stations clean and welcoming.

The ‘Jan Sambad’ initiative provides a platform for direct interaction between railway officials, passengers and members of the public to understand passenger needs, address concerns and gather suggestions for improving railway services.

During the campaign, railway officials and staff engaged with passengers to create awareness about passenger safety, cleanliness, responsible travel practices and the proper use of railway premises. The campaign also encourages passengers to share their experiences and suggestions concerning station facilities, passenger amenities and the overall travel experience.

Such interactions help railway authorities understand public expectations and identify areas requiring attention, reaffirming ECoR’s commitment to safe, clean, efficient and passenger-friendly railway services.
