ED starts probe into D-bros’ financial transactions

Bhubaneswar: Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials Monday began investigations into the financial transactions of gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalasamanta, who were arrested by the commissionerate police in 2016.
ED sources said the agency’s sleuths Monday interrogated five associates of Dhalasamanta brothers in connection with their financial transactions.
Commissionerate police officials have so far arrested around 36 persons in connection with the case.
As many as 21 cases have been registered against the D-brothers at various police stations.
The police had arrested Sushant and Sushil January 29, 2016, in connection with the kidnap and murder of sharpshooter Dipu Mallick, the prime accused of a double murder case under Chauliaganj police station in Cuttack.
The police had reportedly retrieved the driving licence and a photograph of Dipu from the D-brothers’ Vishakhapatnam house.
The duo had reportedly told the police that they had connections with Uttar Pradesh don Raja Bhaiya alias Raghuraj Pratap Singh.
While Sushant is lodged in Jharpada Special Jail, Sushil is languishing in Balasore District Jail.
