Eight places in state record below 10°C

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave situation continued to prevail in the state as eight places recorded a minimum temperature of below 10°C, Sunday. According to a India Metrological Department (IMD) report, state’s lowest minimum temperature of 4.5°C was recorded at Phulbani town, while it was 7°C at Daringibadi and 7.5°C at Sundergarh. The other places that recorded sub 10°C include Bhawanipatna (8.27°C), Keonjhar (8.97°C), Angul (97°C), Koraput (9.57°C) and Hirakud (9.67°C), the Met said. In state capital Bhubaneswar and neighbouring town Cuttack, the minimum temperature was 12°C each. The IMD officials said moderate fog likely to occur in some parts of coastal and south Orissa during next three days. The prevailing weather condition will continue for another three days after that there will be a drop in the mercury level, they said.
