Rasulpur: A fisherman allegedly committed suicide by planting dynamite on his body and lighting it up at Prathamakhandi village under Kuakhia police limits in Jajpur district, the wee hours Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Kanhei Behera (60).
According to reports, Kanhei planted dynamite which is used for fishing; he planted it on his body and lit it up following which it exploded leaving his body parts scattered everywhere.
Though the exact reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that Kanhei might have taken the extreme step over family feud.
On receipt of information, police reached the spot and sent Kanhei’s remains for post-mortem.
Police have also started an investigation into the incident.
