Pipili: The process of electioneering for Pipili bypoll, which has been scheduled for September 30, will come to an end by Monday.

Political atmosphere has warmed up, in the meanwhile, with date of polling for Pipili Assembly constituency getting closer. The three major political parties of Odisha – BJD, BJP and Congress – have been focusing more on Pipili and Delanga blocks, a source informed.

BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik is to campaign in virtual mode for the party candidate Rudrapratap Maharathy, later in the day.

Similarly, former Union Minister Pratap Sarangi campaigned in the morning for BJP candidate Ashrit Pattanayak. Sarangi visited several villages in Dandamkundapur panchayat appealing local voters.

It is pertinent to mention, mock-poll is to begin at 5.00am and polling at 7.00am on the scheduled date for the Pipili Assembly constituency seat. Around 348 booths have been prepared for the purpose.

The fates of ten different candidates will be tested and 2,29,998 local voters will exercise their rights to franchise. Counting of the votes for the prestigious MLA seat will be carried out October 3, 2021.
