Rayagada: An engineering girl was found mysteriously inside her room in Kasturi Nagar here in this district late Monday night. The girl has been identified as Rani.
The matter came to the fore after she did not open her door Tuesday morning. Family members suspected foul play and broke open the door only to find her hanging.
While no exact reason of her death is known, sources said she allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her room over a family feud.
According to sources, Rani broke out in a fight with her brother over some issue. When her mother asked them to keep quiet, she also scolded her mother. Irked over the issue, she locked herself in her room and took the extreme step, sources said.
Later, the family rescued her and rushed to the Rayagada district headquarters hospital (DHH). But she was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body for postmortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police, in this regard and a probe is on, cops said.
