England stun World Champs Germany

Berlin, March 27: World Champions Germany lost 2-3 to England in a football friendly international match after taking a 2-0 lead on home soil at the Olympia Stadium here.
Germany dictated the pace for more than sixty minutes and established a 2-0 lead through Toni Kroos and Mario Goetze here Saturday.
However, England turned the tides in the second half, thanks to the goals by Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier.
The hosts took the reins from the kick-off and pressed England into the defensive. Mats Hummels had the first chance to open the scoring after a rebound but goalkeeper Jack Butland denied the defender from very close range in the 10th minute.
However, the German aggression paid off when they broke the deadlock with two minutes remaining in the first half. Kroos had all time and space to drill a low shot from outside of the box into the bottom left from the edge of the box.
After the restart, Germany started where they left off as Gomez doubled the lead after making use on a pinpoint cross by Khedira on the 57th minute.
But then started the England comeback on a night which Roy Hodgson called the ‘best of his coaching career’. Kane capitalised on a rebound following a corner to reduce the arrears four minutes later.
England gained momentum and attacked relentlessly. In the process they leveled the scores in the 74th minute after Vardy’s brilliant back-heel effort beat Germany custodian Manuel Neuer into the near post corner following a cross by Nathaniel Clyne.
And then in stoppage time Dier was at the right place to nod in a floater from the right.
