Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Anu Garg Thursday directed district collectors to resolve land, clearance and implementation bottlenecks within stipulated timelines to ensure faster execution of government projects and schemes. Garg issued the direction while reviewing the progress of flagship schemes and projects with all district collectors at Lok Seva Bhavan. Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Additional Chief Secretary Usha Padhee, secretaries of various departments and senior officials attended the meeting. Collectors joined virtually. The meeting reviewed district-level implementation of major schemes, pending approvals, land issues and other execution-related hurdles across several departments. The H&UD department discussed land issues linked to water supply and other projects.
The meeting also reviewed market-based financing opportunities for small urban local bodies and district-level compliance with budget management rules. The Women and Child Development department reviewed Poshan-2026, the ‘Suposhit Odisha’ Mission and digital monitoring initiatives, with emphasis on identifying and referring malnourished children, registering pregnant women and improving nutrition services in vulnerable areas. The Health and Family Welfare Department reviewed biomedical waste management, land for primary health centres, AYUSH Medical Colleges, the ‘Ama Hospital’ programme and the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme. Progress on the ‘Baraputra Heritage Corridor’, handloom and handicraft initiatives, farmer registration and the Kharif-2026 digital survey were also reviewed.
The School and Mass Education department reviewed the Godabarish Mishra Model Primary School scheme, residential hostels in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas and APAAR ID generation for students. The MSME department reviewed district-level Single Window Clearance Authority meetings, MSME parks, the Odisha Startup Ecosystem and credit facilities. The plan to develop 30 MSME parks across the state was also discussed. Garg stressed regular district-level monitoring and inter-departmental coordination to ensure that approved projects and schemes are implemented within deadlines and their benefits reach people at the earliest.
