Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: The Orissa eves started their quarterfinal league campaign in the U-19 National Football Championships with a 3-1 victory over Mizoram in Goa. In an exciting encounter, Orissa took the lead in the 28th minute when Arati Sethi scored.
Even though, Mizoram restored parity soon after, Orissa once more took the lead in the 46th minute when Swarnapriya Nayak scored immediately after the breather. The Orissa eves made the issue save in the 70th minute with another strike from Sasmita Dalai. Orissa play their next game October 17, against hosts Goa.

FAO (under-19) Academy, Cuttack carved out a facile 3-0 victory over Kakhadi XI in a match of the IVth Taraprasad Pattnaik Memorial football tournament played Tuesday at the Dhenkanal Stadium. The FAO under-19 boys completely dominated proceedings and could have won by a better margin had they utilised the chances that came their way. Sama Bhoi, Mohammad Bilal and Sk. Shakib Shahzada scored for the winners.

Neelkamal Club and Regional Football Club shared two goals in a match of the 12th Gati Krushna Memorial football tournament at the Unit-I HS ground here Tuesday. After a goalless first half, it was Neelkamal who took the lead when Piyus Pratik Nanda scored in the 53rd minute. However, not to be outdone, Regional FC hit back four minutes later with a fine solo goal by TM Singh.
