Eves suffer hat-trick of losses

Bhubaneswar: Orissa continued their poor run as they suffered a six wickets loss Friday against Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) in a match of the Senior Women’s T20 League at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur. This is the third consecutive loss for the eves in as many matches.
Opting to bat first, Orissa rode on a 103 runs opening stand by Madhuri Mehta and Madhusmita Behera to score 118 for the loss of two wickets. Madhuri (64, 65b, 7×4) scored a brilliant half century and was well supported by Madhusmita (39, 45b, 4×4).
Chasing a victory target of 119, UPCA knocked it off in 19.1 overs for the loss of four wickets. Deepti (60, 47b, 6×4) played an exhilarating knock to fashion victory for her side. Rajashree Swain (2/26) bowled well for Orissa, but lacked support from the others.

Hockey team
Hockey Orissa announced a 17-member team Friday for the Sub-Junior National Women’s Division A hockey championships to be played at Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu, January 11-22. Ajmina Kujur has been appointed as the skipper of the team.
