Bhubaneswar: The state government Tuesday asked officials of the departments concerned to expedite various projects taken up on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Sources said a direction to this effect has been issued by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi to the officials during a review meeting at Secretariat here.
According to sources, Padhi asked the officials to expedite work of 23 godowns taken up on PPP mode to augment paddy and rice storage facility. The work orders for the purpose have already been issued by the state government.
The government has also issued work orders for construction of five modern hospitals and a super-specialty hospital in the capital city which had been approved by the state government recently. About `424 crore will be spent on construction of these hospitals which will have 800 beds.
Sources further said during the meeting BMC officials have assured timely completion of concrete houses under Awas Yojana in the capital city in which `92 crore will be spent for construction of 1,300 houses for the Shanti Nagar slum dwellers. The meeting also discussed Balasore-Bhadrak city bus service project for which tender has already been finalised, sources added.
Meanwhile, during another meeting the chief secretary reportedly asked the officials to fast-track the construction work of incubation centre in the Infocity here. The twin-tower is being built by Idco at a cost of `170 crore to give boost to state’s IT sector.
