Bhubaneswar, March 3: Hundreds of art lovers Tuesday thronged Lalit Kala Akademi on the first day of an art exhibition titled ‘Infinity’ which was held with a view to offer visitors a glimpse into various visual arts.
Organised by ‘Volume’, an artists’ group in the state, the exhibition offered a platform to young artists to showcase their talent.
Above 40 multi-arts including sculptures, paintings, print-making, drawings, and ceramics were displayed at the venue. Each art form spoke volumes about the sense and sensibility of its creators. Around 30 artists participated in the exhibition.
Lambodar Moharana, an artist who is skilled in print-making, said, “My picture speaks about life between space. In my picture, I tried to showcase the limitation of a person as a social being. Three bottles are drawn here, depicting three different circumstances of a person’s life. A person is confined in a boundary. There are times in life when a person feels everything is going wrong, but a time will come when the same person will wake up and find that he is a happy person. It’s all about circumstances,” Moharana said.
Satya Ranjan Rout attempted to draw attention towards the need for motorcyclists to wear helmets. “I drew an image of a woman riding a scooter with her helmet on. Most of us avoid wearing helmets for some reason and as a result we see several cases of people getting seriously injured or even killed just because they weren’t wearing helmets. Youngsters especially should be aware of the need to wear helmets,” said Rout.
A seminar titled ‘Talk On’ has been scheduled where ‘Social Concern and Art’ will be discussed. The exhibition will continue till March 6.
