Bhubaneswar: A person was arrested Sunday for allegedly duping a retired government employee by posing as an official of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), said Balakati Police.
The accused has been identified as Smith Sethi.
Dambarudhara Biswal, a retired government employee of the Animal Husbandry Department, resides at Balakati area in Khurda district. Sunday morning Sethi allegedly barged into his house identifying himself as a NABARD official.
When Biswal asked Sethi for his identity card, he failed to do so which led Biswal to call the police. On being informed, Balakati police rushed to the spot and arrested the miscreant.
Police is trying to identify Sethi’s motive behind the move.
